We were very happy (actually, ecstatic) to win three Silver Medals from the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition in SF in late January, especially since we only submitted three wines:
2006 Cabernet Franc
2006 Mélange
2006 Syrah

TWO MORE MEDALS!  We were very happy to win Silver Medals for our 2007 Viognier and our 2006 Syrah at the World of Wine judging for 2008!

We were thrilled to win a Silver Medal for our '05 Mélange at the West Coast Wine Competition, April 16-18, 2008 in Santa Rosa, California.  This competition has entries from California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Baja California, British Columbia, New Zealand, and Australia.

What's Going On in the Vineyard

The "season" has begun again with pruning of the vines well underway. The hard freezes in the early December time frame (8 degrees) don't seem to have caused any significant damage to the buds, which have begun to swell slightly. Moisture received to date through the winter rains, has been adequate, but we are hoping for additional rain in the months ahead before "bud break." We are excited to again be a participant in OSU irrigation research studies, which are aimed at improving the overall quality of grapes and wine.
